Imagine how much fun it would be to watch your little quarterback run for the end zone as he hops into bed in the cool football bedroom you designed just for him. A little imagination will go a long way, and you'll also find some awesome inspiration from the multitude of items you'll be able to buy to create your gridiron theme. If your son has a favorite team, you can create the room based on the team's colors. While you may not want to paint the walls black, you can always use a neutral color and then accent in team colors. Football bedroom decorating can be a lot of fun.
One of the things you'll probably have to work around is the flooring that's already in the room. If you have hardwood floors or neutral carpets, clashing colors won't be a problem, and you can always add a play rug using team colors. With carpeting that isn't a neutral color, however, you're going to have to coordinate the colors you use with the shade of the carpet, unless you're willing to foot the bill for something new. If you're looking to replace the carpet, you will find various carpets with NFL logos on them, or you might consider putting in green carpeting to look like a football field.
So what can you find to decorate a football bedroom? A lot will depend on your own skills as an artist. If you're lucky enough to be one of those talented people, there will be no end of murals you can create on the walls. You might add a team logo, a grandstand of people watching the game, or a football field, just to name a few. If you don't have the ability to do these things, you can always resort to commercial décor, such as posters. Every kid loves posters of his favorite players. There is even furniture with footballs on it, if you want to buy new furnishings for the room.
A cute window treatment can be done with football pennants. All you'll need is a curtain rod that you can hang the pennants from. You will also find ready-made curtains with various football designs if you spend some time shopping online.
As you can see, it isn't difficult to do football bedroom decorating, because there are tons of ideas online as well as huge selections of merchandise to choose from. Besides, the room doesn't have to be ultra fancy in order to be a "Touchdown!" as far as your son is concerned.
Admit it, you're thinking about changing up your bedroom. How do you do it though? Visit betterbedroomideas.com for more tips on bedroom closet organizers and romantic bedroom design ideas and learn how you can do more.

Start from the bottom up with a cool rug or wall-to-wall flooring from your local carpet or home improvement store. You can custom order carpet/rugs that look like turf and have the 10-yard lines painted on it. You can also customize it with their favorite team logo!
Make one wall pop by using an easy-to-install mural. Don't paint the other walls until you purchase the mural, then find a great coordinating color to make the mural pop.
For the bed, simple is best - you'll want to purchase a transitional bedspread to accommodate theme changes as your son gets older. Keep bedding simplistic and use accessories and paint to create the scene.
Now it's time to look up. Paint the ceiling a coordinating color to match your walls/mural - keep it light. Add a football ceiling fan to complete your ceiling look.
Let's accessorize - real lockers are a great way to add interest AND storage to a room - you can find new ones online, or search garage sales or school sales for used lockers that you can re-purpose with paint and you have an instant dresser! Add a side table and a lamp, wall shelves for sports memorabilia and books, or use shadowbox frames to highlight ticket stubs or autographed pieces.
For the windows, a fun valance is the best way to go - use team jerseys and clothesline. String the clothesline over the top of the window by using any type of storage hook. Attach the jerseys with clothespins and you have an instant and interesting window treatment. If you need more privacy, just add simple panels or wooden blinds.
